| Earl's Food Center |
| Location:
510 Verot School Road, Lafayette, LA Ambiance: A medium sized grocery store on the fringes of Lafayette. This type of grocery store is a throw-back to the way grocery stores used to look and feel; before the super stores took over. It is nice to shop at a place like this. They also sell breakfast and plate lunches. |
| OVERALL RATING: A |
| THE BOUDIN
Price: $3.09 lb Presentation: Placed in a Styrofoam container, wrapped in cellophane, priced, and handed across the counter. Casing: Crisp and thin with a brittle texture. Rice/Meat Ratio: More rice than meat, but the permutation is close to even. Texture: Dry on the inside. The meat is pounded to bits, the rice is hearty, and the green onion is visible and well cooked. Spices: Medium/Hot Overall Taste: Delectable. Full-bodied flavor with excellent seasonings. Aromatic pork flavors with superb undertones of rice and spice. Comments: The link has a curious yellow tinge on the outside caused by a thin layer of grease, but the interior of the link is not greasy at all. We truly enjoyed this link and it was nice to find a place open for an early Sunday boudin run. |
